Summary:

The Dental Provider Support Analyst has duties and responsibilities related to monitoring and improvement of dental services. The functions of this position will primarily focus on provider support and chart auditing/reporting.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

KEY FUNTIONS:
 
  • Performing dental chart audits as assigned.
  • Assisting or completing follow up with providers related to chart findings and care gaps.
  • Providing regular feedback/recommendations to Dental Director based on chart findings and discussions with providers.
  • Developing/refining note templating (smart notes/lists) and documentation processes in EHR/EPIC to support compliance and efficiency.
  • Developing and providing training material as requested for dental providers.
  • Creating and providing provider reports as requested by Dental Director and/or other department leaders.
  • Collaborating with other departments as needed.
  • Knowledgeable of clinical quality measures and preventive health maintenance recommendations.
  • Review and completion of manual abstraction and updating dental health maintenance in EPIC as assigned.
  • Developing strong knowledge of EPIC and reporting capabilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite applications.
  • Ability to learn usage of video conferencing and online collaborative tools.
  • Understanding and adhering to regulations for FQHCs and Primary Care Centers.
  • Maintaining a comprehensive working knowledge of community resources, payer requirements, and network services for target populations.
  • Performing other duties as assigned within scope of practice.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Must have a DMD/DDS degree or RDH.
Minimum of 2 years clinical experience or managed care/health plan experience.
Fluency in evidence-based care guidelines for disease prevention.
Experience with EPIC preferred.
Experience related to quality management/performance improvement preferred.

Goals and Monitoring/Tracking Progress:

Total hours per week: 16-20 hours per week.

DPSA will complete a total of 10 chart reviews per day or 0.75 per hour. This will be divided among dental providers as assigned by Quality and/or Dental Director. Chart Review includes:
  1. X-ray review
    1. Quality
    2. Appropriateness
    3. Coding compliance/usage
    4. Findings included in chart/documentation

DPSA will use reporting to update all providers and leadership on a weekly basis of the following:
 
  1. Weekly encounters
  2. Contract to date encounters
  3. Year to date encounters
  4. Quality Measure Performance
    1. Contract to date for DMD
    2. Year to date for RDH

DPSA will assist with Dental Provider Onboarding and Trainings – with focus on Quality Performance, Documentation, and Risk Management. *Their scorecard will be based on provider performance and improvement.
DPSA will collaborate with Quality and Dental Director on Provider PIP’s and QIQA efforts.
DPSA will attend QIQA meetings and present on Dental’s behalf.
