Summary: This role supports providers by working to the fullest extent of their licensure. The triage nurse works closely, as a team, with the provider(s) and other clinical staff, to meet the needs of the patients.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Reviews results and records in Provider(s) PAQ. Helps prioritize routine, urgent, and emergent needs.
- Work from approved guidelines, protocols, and standing orders.
- Notifies patients of normal results.
- Answer incoming patient calls obtaining information necessary for appropriate physician action.
- Promptly return any patient calls with instructions from physicians, working toward the goal of 30-minute return time.
- Answer pharmacy calls regarding patient’s medications and call in any refills or new prescriptions ordered by physicians.
- Obtain physician’s response to requests for medication.
- Make referrals to outside medical facilities at request of physician for patients, not completed by the referral coordinator(s), as needed.
- Works with referral coordinator(s), hospital tracking, case managers, and other support staff.
- Follow through with physician’s instructions regarding follow-up of laboratory results, medication changes, follow-up appointments, and referrals.
- Acts as a resource person.
- Maintain current license and certification, if applicable.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.

- Team members will participate in reviewing and evaluating practice performance and helping identify opportunities for improvement.
- Team members will participate in Grace Health's advocacy program.
GENERAL DUTIES:
- Follows policies and procedures of the office, including administrative, clinical, quality assurance, and personnel.
- Maintain good attendance (daily, meetings, and other assignment tasks).
- Maintain timely documentation of all work assignments.
- Maintain patient confidentiality.
- Routinely keep the supervisor informed about attendance and job assignments.
- Flexible in being able to multitask.
- Work effectively and at an efficient pace.
- Work cooperatively with physicians, administration, and peers.
